Terms of Service

Welcome to Loamz Chat. These terms are the rules for using our messaging app and website. By using Loamz Chat you agree to them. Loamz Chat is run by Ravikumar Chavva from Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("we", "us").

Who can use Loamz Chat

  • Loamz Chat is an invite-only beta. You join by asking for access and being approved. We may approve, decline or end anyone's access.

  • You must be at least 18.

  • You are responsible for your account and your devices. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

Acceptable use

We want Loamz Chat to be safe and respectful. Do not:

  • send spam, bulk unwanted messages or advertisements;

  • harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;

  • share illegal, abusive, defamatory or harmful content, or content that exploits children;

  • attack, overload or probe our servers, or try to get round limits and access controls;

  • use agents, schedules or helpers to do any of the above, or to send things on a very large scale.

Because chats between people are end-to-end encrypted we cannot read them. If someone reports abuse, or we detect abuse at the server level, we will act to protect people, which can include ending an account.

Your content

What you write, send and make is yours. You give us only the permission needed to run the service: to store and deliver it, and (for agents) to process it as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use it for advertising and do not use it to train AI models.

The beta

Loamz Chat is a beta preview:

  • it is provided "as is" and "as available";

  • it uses standard encryption (OpenMLS, RFC 9420), but the implementation has not yet been independently audited;

  • we may change, limit or pause parts of it, and it may have errors or go down;

  • there is a limit on stored files (100 MB per person) and on other things such as scheduled runs and helpers, and we may change these limits.

Keep a backup of anything important (Settings, Backup and devices).

Stories

A story is shown to the people you chat with for 24 hours. Someone who sees a story can take a screenshot or copy it, and we cannot stop that. Do not post a story you would not want those people to keep.

AI agents

  • Visible: an AI agent in a chat always shows a bot badge, and the people in the chat can remove it.

  • Not end-to-end encrypted: what you say to an agent is stored on our server and sent to an AI provider to produce the answer, as the Privacy Policy explains. If you add an agent to a chat with other people, you are agreeing that the agent and its provider can read what is said there. Ask the others first.

  • Answers can be wrong. Check anything important. You are responsible for what you do with an answer and for anything an agent does for you, such as a scheduled run or a message it sends. Agents ask your approval before actions that change things.

  • You are in control: you can pause all your agents (Settings, Privacy), or hide AI features completely.

Backups and drives

A backup is sealed on your device with a recovery code or passphrase only you hold. If you lose it, nobody, including us, can open the backup. If you choose to keep a backup in your own Google Drive, the sealed file is stored and governed by your Google account, and Google's terms apply to that storage.

Ending your use

  • You can close your account in Settings, Your account.

  • We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or that puts people or the service at risk.

  • Your messages are kept on your devices and in your own backups. We cannot delete copies already on other people's devices.

Our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided without warranties, and we are not responsible for loss that comes from using a beta, from things you or other people do, from an AI answer, or from a service we depend on. Nothing here limits any right you have that the law does not allow us to limit.

Changes

We may update these terms as Loamz Chat grows. When we make an important change we will post the new terms here and change the date at the top. If you keep using Loamz Chat after the change takes effect, you accept it.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be heard by the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
